Half way through the year

Hi guys!

The last time you heard from me, it was in January and I had set a new years resolution to lose my baby weight. Well six months later here I am. I haven't lost much weight at all, I've stayed pretty much in the same area (around 155), but I haven't been trying either. Truth is, I've spent the past six months studying to get my California mortgage loan originator license. It's been a long and painful process, since I still work from home as a social media specialist and take care of my baby, as well as maintain my houshold errands and stuff.

Working, studying AND having a baby is no joke. It's the hardest thing I've done yet. But I'm happy to report that I'm almost finished and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. By the end of this month (July) I should be done with all of my pre-licensing education, and ready to have my life back again!! YESS!!

My little sunshine. Isn't he cute?

In the mean time, I've lost hair, gained some grays and acquired a mean chocolate addiction. UGH. I've lost myself --- to having a baby, and now to studying. I'm ready to reclaim my life back again. Although I still have one more test to pass before my studying stresses are over, I feel ready right now to start eating healthy again and incorporating some exercise back into my life. I can't go FULL throttle yet, but I can at least start revving up my engine in terms of getting back into fitness.

So here's my workout plan for the week:

Monday - Run 1.5 miles

Tuesday - Core routine

Wednesday - Run 1.5 miles

Thursday - Core routine

Friday - Run 1.5 miles

Saturday - Yoga

This is all I can manage right now. As far as my meals go, I've been trying to clean up my diet as much as possible here and there. Here's a meal plan I followed last week:

Dinner was random. I plan to incorporate more healthy foods into my diet this week and try to slowly push out the junk. I can't believe I've allowed myself to eat so much junk the past six months. I haven't been my usual self and I'm really tired of eating crap. I'm SO ready for this change right now, and especially ready to get my prebaby body back.

I feel pretty lousy that things have been this way, but at the same time, I really couldn't have it any other way. To give myself due credit, I have been walking DAILY with my baby son, so I've at least kept that up. When I get focused on a goal, I get tunnel vision, and right now my goal has been to finish my prelicensing education. Everything else has been secondary or non-existant. Not to mention, when I've tried to workout as usual I've ended up completely exhausted and unable to do the things I need to do like take care of my baby, or stay up late studying. BUT, that's okay because I know what I want, and I know where I'm going, so I have absolutely no regrets about the fact that fitness has taken the back burner these past months.

Has there ever been a time in your life when you've truly been too busy to workout or too stressed to eat healthy? Am I just a wuss or what? Okay I admit you should never be too stressed to eat healthy, there's no excuse there. haha, leave a comment. Have a great week guys!

p.s. I'm excited to start blogging more again too :) I'll keep you updated on my progress here!

My C-Section Recovery Exercise Program

Hi Everyone! Tomorrow I will be 8 weeks postpartum after my csection! Yay! Two weeks ago my doctor finally cleared me to start working out again. After doing a few test workouts, I am feeling confident again! My abdominal pain was pretty much gone during the test workouts I did. I did a 1 mile run and a 30 min yoga sequence. Since I'm feeling ready to workout again, today I am starting my C-Section Recovery Exercise Program.

This plan was developed to help me gain back my core strength, balance, endurance and overall fitness after 9 months of a sedentary pregnancy and then a c section. I will also be incorporating training for a half-marathon in this program along with a healthy diet to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight.
Pre-pregnancy I weighted 126-130. Now I weight 156lbs... so I've got at least 30lbs to lose.

I am going to be documenting my fitness journey for you on YouTube and here on my blog. Every week I will upload a video, and here on my blog I will share my workout plans for that week which you can download in PDF format. I will also be sharing some recipes that I'm using to eat healthier and eventually a meal plan which you will be able to download in PDF format for FREE.

Please note that I am not responsible for any injury or hurt that you may experience if you follow my exercise program. This program was specifically developed for me alone, so follow it at your own discretion! Always check with your doctor before starting any exercise program, especially after a csection because you can really hurt yourself if you're not ready to workout yet. Everybody's body is different and heals at a different rate. Having said this, if you do my program, please leave me comments, I'd love to know how you are doing on it!

I am a bit nervous about committing to a workout program with having a baby now. Just in case you didn't know, having a baby and committing to a workout program is challenging! I will definitely need my husband's help to get it done.

Leave me a comment if you follow my program! Have a great week!

The Most Basic Exercise Done Wrong At The Gym

Photo on 2012-08-26 at 16.26 #2

Happy Sunday peeps!!! Well you guessed it, I'm headed back into fall semester starting tomorrow at BYU. One of my major classes this semester is Human Anatomy! Trust me I've already tried to get a head start on studying because I know it's going to be one big avalanche of information *squirm* Anyways school always makes me feel so happy so I'm really excited to get back into it even if it becomes challenging for me.

Who else is studying and working right now? Speak up if you're in the same boat with me!

So I've got to admit I've been taking quite a hiatus recently from blogging, and it hasn't really been intentional. Sometimes I get in these weird moods where I would rather be an internet LURKER than a blogger and that's what I've been doing lately. But I'm happy to say that I am planning to start blogging more regularly starting this week!

For the longest time I've wanted to start making my own YouTube workout videos. I'm ready to announce that I'm going to start posting my own YouTube workout videos for you to do this week and I hope you enjoy!! I've been largely inspired by fellow trainer Kyla Gagnon who is my favorite online personal trainer!! She inspires me soooo much and naturally is inspiring me to create my own workout vids!! So I hope you guys give me your feedback! <3 <3 <3

Speaking of YouTube, I made this video below today and it is one I've been wanting to make for a LONG time now. If you're the kind of person who likes to do exercises with the proper form to save your ligaments, joints, bones from stress and to actually strengthen your muscles, PLEASE watch this video! ;-) I've been seeing people do this exercise at the gym WRONG for the longest time and I decided it was time for me to help some people out!! hehe Please leave me a comment if it helps you out!

I'm going to be planning my meals for the week today (since it's Sunday) and getting ready to rock a great week of eating right and working out! Here's what my list looks like:
