Training Log #006 - The New Rules of Lifting for Women 6 Month Challenge

Like I said, I almost didn't do my workout because not only was I discouraged from not keeping a good diet at all, but also my husband had been sick all night/day. BUT instead I pushed through my self-doubt and insecurities and stuck with my commitment, and I can't tell you how proud I am of myself for doing so. It's so important to just get RIGHT back up when you fall off the wagon, and just keep the ball rolling in the right direction. I feel glad and excited to keep pushing towards my goals. Now I'll be able to complete my 3 workouts for this week. I can't wait until New Years!

My workout today went like this:

Workout A3 Stage 1
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Squats 2 sets 12 reps, 40lbs (20lb dumbbells)

Alternating sets
pushups - 2 sets 12 reps
seated row - 2 sets 12 reps, the first set with 50lbs, second set I started with 60lbs then half way through had to push it back to 50lbs

Alternating sets,
step up - 2 sets 12 reps on each leg (The first set with 15lb dumbbells, second set with 20lb)
prone jackknife on stability ball- 2 sets 10 reps- I love these!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TwixyChick, to answer your question about my rest days, my GOAL is to do some workouts from either BodyRockTV, Nike Training Club iPhone app, yoga OR running on my off days, and to only have 2 rest days a week. However that's just my goal, as for reality it hasn't quite worked out that way YET, but I'm totally working towards it. During this week and last week I've only managed to do some yoga once a week plus my NROLFW workouts 3x a week. I'm learning that lifestyle changes take time, patience, and most of all persistence!!!

Here's my inspirational pic for today! From now on, I want every workout to end like this!! No more sissy-pantsing around for me:

And my new mantra for the day:
