I found this incredible artist who paints yoga.
And since I'm a little bit of an artist too, sometimes I like to take paintings and replicate them for practice. So I think I'm going to copy a few of these in oil pastel. Maybe I'll create my own too, with different poses! Here's the link to the rest of them. Enjoy!
Once you've hit rock bottom, the only choice you have is to go up.
I can't say I've hit absolute bottom, however I have been pretty down lately. I also haven't worked out for AGES, which used to be something I was known to be best at. I can't tell you the number of people I've inspired to start running, who before swore they could never do it. Most of these people have even surpassed me in their running achievements. I used to be such a do-er, a go-getter, a runner.
In effort to get my butt back into one of my passions, I enrolled recently in a Yoga Teacher Training program at 3B Yoga in Provo, something I've always had my heart set on doing. It's been a long time since I've finished or accomplished anything, and I feel that it's time to restore my confidence even in some small way such as this. The training begins on Monday of next week, and will be something that will take up a lot of my time for the next 5 weeks. On top of that I'm getting married in 7 weeks, so I've got my work cut out for me. However through time I know it's all going to work out. Luckily I have a wonderfully supportive fiancé who knows how to help me out!
I went to my regular yoga class Tuesday night with my favorite teacher Yara. Suffice it to say that I got my butt whipped by a simple hour of yoga. It helped me realize how completely out-of-shape I am. Weak muscles, no endurance, no stamina - utterly WEAK. Oy vey. But like I said, it's up & progression from here on out!
